Resumen: Education is the basis for the development of society, and its prioritization by a state or nation is fundamental to achieve comprehensive social transformation. Its absence, poor quality or limited access, originate deep inequalities, high poverty rates, intergenerational illiteracy, low self-esteem and scarce employment generation. In this context, entrepreneurship emerges as an alternative for the progress of local economies, mainly led by women. The objective of the study was to design an Educommunication model for the training of women entrepreneurs, which promotes the strengthening of their skills and abilities. To this end, a mixed qualitative quantitative method was used, with the participation of three women's associations: mestizo, indigenous and Afro-Ecuadorian from the Province of Imbabura in Ecuador. The results of the research indicate that around 79% of the participating women did not complete their studies at the different levels offered by the formal education system in the country. In addition, training options are scarce, dispersed and do not respond to their socio-economic reality. In response to this reality, the Educommunication model was built in a participatory way, with emphasis on gender equity and interculturality, as a tool to reduce the poverty gap in the rural sector.
