Resumen: The increasing need for biometric authentication systems has led to the use of reliable and secure technologies that allow people to verify their identities through their unique physical characteristics. The study focuses on validating the acceptance of the Biometric Facial Authentication System (BFAS) among students of the Universidad Técnica del Norte (UTN) located in Ecuador, which has 13,000 students. To carry out this study, information was collected through surveys digitally, and a validated questionnaire, Biometric Acceptance Model (BioTAM), was used as a reference, considering the social and human factors in resistance to change that prominently affect the wider diffusion and easy penetration of BFAS. The survey had 26 questions to gather data and scrutinize people’s behavioral intention to use the BFAS. Statistical analysis measures the technology acceptance model (TAM), which is a new construction that determines its importance for the use of ICT in universities.
