Resumen: RESUMEN La Carrera de Ingeniería en Electrónica y Redes de comunicación (CIERCOM) actualmente Carrera de Ingeniería en Telecomunicaciones (CITEL) de la Facultad de Ingeniería en Ciencias Aplicadas (FICA) de la Universidad Técnica del Norte (UTN) realiza seguimiento y acompañamiento académico a estudiantes con pérdida de semestre matriculados con segunda y tercera matrícula con el fin de disminuir el número de estudiantes con repitencia por semestre y mejorar el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes. La presente investigación realiza un estudio cualitativo, cuantitativo y descriptivo posterior a la elaboración de fichas de seguimiento a estudiantes con repitencia, como fase inicial se analiza la muestra de 15 estudiantes con 2da. matrícula asignados a una docente de la carrera de Ingeniería en Electrónica y Redes de Comunicación (CIERCOM) con el fin de determinar las principales causas de repitencia considerando factores familiares, económicos, sociológicos del estudiante por una parte mientras que por otra el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje del profesor en el periodo académico Marzo 2016 – Agosto 2016. Abstract: The Engineering Career in Electronics and Communication Networks (CIERCOM) currently as a Telecommunications Engineering Career (CITEL) of the Faculty of Engineering in Applied Sciences (FICA) of the Technical University of the North (UTN) carries out follow-up and academic support for students with loss of semester enrolled with second and third enrollment in order to reduce the number of students with repetition per semester and improve the academic performance of students.
