Resumen: El proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje del taekwondo ha ido evolucionando con el paso del tiempo, requiriendo que los entrenadores dejen a un lado sus modelos conductistas de enseñanza y se preparen académicamente para afrontar los retos actuales de la pedagogía y la didáctica. El objetivo de la investigación es determinar el perfil pedagógico de los docentes entrenadores de la Federación Ecuatoriana de Taekwondo pertenecientes a la zona norte del País y encontrar relaciones con los datos sociodemográficos. La investigación tuvo un enfoque mixto, siendo de tipo descriptiva y de corte transversal. Los sujetos de estudio son 35 entrenadores de taekwondo. Se aplicó un cuestionario para obtener la información sociodemográfica y otro cuestionario de perfil pedagógico del docente entrenador adaptado al proceso educativo y deportivo cuyos resultados mostraron que los entrenadores de la muestra establecida tienen perfiles pedagógicos Humanistas, Conductistas y Constructivistas, todos con porcentajes de alrededor del 20%. Para el análisis estadístico se utilizó el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman y el valor del estadístico t. La correlación entre la preparación académica y el perfil pedagógico de los docentes/entrenadores de taekwondo presentó resultados moderadamente positivos, con un coeficiente de Spearman del 0,45 que demuestra relaciones estadísticas entre las dos variables. The taekwondo teaching-learning process has evolved over time, requiring coaches to put aside their behavioral teaching models and prepare themselves academically to face the current challenges of pedagogy and didactics. The objective of the research is to determine the pedagogical profile of the coaches of the Ecuadorian Taekwondo Federation belonging to the northern part of the country and to find relationships with the sociodemographic data. The research had a mixed approach, being descriptive and crosssectional. The study subjects are 35 taekwondo trainers. A questionnaire was applied to obtain sociodemographic information and another questionnaire on the teacher’s pedagogical profile adapted to sports training, the results of which showed that the coaches of the established sample have Humanist, Behaviorist and Constructivist pedagogical profiles, all with percentages of around 20%. For the statistical analysis, Spearman’s correlation coefficient and the value of the t statistic were used. The correlation between the academic preparation and the pedagogical profile of the taekwondo teachers/coaches presented moderately positive results, with a Spearman coefficient of 0.45 that demonstrates statistical relationships between the two variables.
